Location and Date:

The 2017 Eastern Class E-Scow Association Championship takes place on Friday, August 4, 2017

through and including Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club located at 401 Berkeley Avenue, Beach Haven, NJ 08008. Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club


Rules:

The regatta as governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

All boats must display an NCESA registration sticker. 

Required Safety Equipment:

1. Personal Flotation device for each member of the crew
2. Tow Line
3. Main Sail Flotation Panels

Number of Races:

Seven (7) races are scheduled. The completion of three (3) races constitutes a Regatta. No more than three races will be sailed back to back. Any break in racing will be on the water with identified head boats available. No warning signal shall be made after 14:00 on Sunday, August 6, 2017 unless there have only been two (2) races completed, in which case the time for the warning signal may be extended to no later than 17:00. If six races are sailed, each boat series score shall be the total of her race excluding her worst. This changes RRS A2.


Scoring:
RRS A4 low point system


Awards:

Top 5 Skippers, Top 5 Crews, Top Vintage Boat Skipper, Top Rookie and Top Master. (Master is a skipper whose age is 65 or greater as of August 6, 2017).


Fees:

Entry fee for registrations received on or before July 15th, 2017 is $300 for boats whose skipper was born on or before August 6, 1992 or $260 for Skipper born after August 6, 1992. Entry fee must be paid on the Yacht Scoring website prior to July 16th, 2017 to receive the standard entry fee rate. Entry fee for registrations received after July 15th, 2017 is $350 for boats whose skipper was born on or before August 6, 1992 or $300 for Skipper born after August 6, 1992. All skippers must be Regular Members of the NCESA and need to join before the regatta at www.e-scow.org

Measurement:
Measurement takes place at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club from 14:00 19:00 on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Boats not having a weight sticker or a lead seal are not eligible to compete and will have to be weighed and weights sealed. Should measurement conditions not be deemed acceptable by the Class Measurer, no weigh-in will occur.


Sailing Instructions:

Sailing Instructions will be available online no later than August 4, 2017 at www.yachtscoring.com. Paper copies will be available at the Check In / Registration table. 

Radio Use:

The RC will communicate with competitors on VHF radio channel 66. The order of transmission or failure to hear a RC transmission shall not constitute grounds for redress. Notification of course changes after the start may be broadcast by the RC in addition to the signals. Please bring a VHF radio. 

SOCIAL AND BUSINESS INFORMATION Lodging/Housing:

The Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club will attempt to locate housing on a first come first service basis but no guarantees are implied. Please direct any and ALL Housing Requests to Laura Darling at Ldarling6@gmail.com.


Meals:
Wrist Bands will be issued at onsite registration and must be worn at all times to access Breakfast, Lunch Buffets and evening Social Events.
Hot Breakfast: begins at 07:30 at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings and includes healthy breakfast options. The cost is included as part of the social package. Lunches: Lunches will be supplied to all skippers and crew Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as part of your registration fee. Lunches Friday and Saturday must be picked up at the club gazabo on the north side of the club house starting 09:00 09:30 on Thursday & Friday. The Sunday lunch buffet will take place as soon as possible after the final race.


Eastern
s Evening Events:
Flavors of Beach Haven Reception
, as part of the registration fee, includes skippers and crew (max 3), held on the front dock of LEHYC. Additional guests and club members are invited ($40 per person). Menu includes specialities from local eateries. Extra sailor guest tickets can be purchased through Yacht Scoring.

E-Scow Eastern
s Diamond Jubilee will be held Saturday night dinner in celebration of the regattas 75th anniversay. The evening includes a dinner and live music. Additional dinner tickets will be available  at registration or on Yacht Scoring ($55 per person) 

Competitor Social Package:

The Social Package includes breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday, after race refreshments Friday, Saturday, and the E-Scow Diamond Jubilee by the Bay on Saturday night. The Friday and Saturday night socials includes live music. Cost is $115.00 person. (Bagged lunches, Sunday lunch buffet, and the Friday night Cocktail Party are a part of the registration fee). LEHYC does NOT have a restaurant or bar. As part of our social package we include both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages after the races Friday and Saturday and socials Friday and Saturday nights.


Regatta Wear:

Coral Reef will be selling regatta and sailing gear on site during the regatta.
