NOTICE OF RACE
--PRELIMINARY--
RULES
1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016, the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association and the National Class E-Scow association except those modified by the Sailing Instructions or this Notice of Race.
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the E-Scow class as defined in the National Class E-Scow Association
2.2 Eligible boats may enter by registering on-line at {need new link}. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
3 FEES
3.1 Registration fees: TBD. Fees include four (4) lunches per day and admission to the Crystal Lake Sailing School Fundraiser Saturday night party featuring a live band.
3.2 Other fees: Additional lunches may be purchased for TDB per lunch.
4 SCHEDULE
4.1 Registration:
Friday, July 17, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 18, 2015 - 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
4.2 Dates of racing:
Saturday July 18, 2015
Sunday July 19, 2015
4.3 Number of races: Maximum of seven (7)
4 on Saturday, July 18, 2015 (time and weather permitting)
3 on Sunday, July 19, 2015 (time and weather permitting)
4.4 The scheduled time of the warning signals is:
Saturday, July 18, 2015 – 10:30 a.m.
Sunday, July 19, 2015 – 10:00 a.m.
5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available at the registration desk.
6 VENUE
6.1 All racing will be in the Western end of Crystal Lake.
7 THE COURSES
The courses will be Windward-Leeward with an option to finish downwind when back-to-back races are being held
8 PENALTY SYSTEM
Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
9 SCORING
9.1 Three (3) races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
9.2 When fewer than six (6) races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
10 RADIO COMMUNICATION
10.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
10.2 The Race Committee will use VHF radio to communicate to the competitors. Communication channel will be provided at the skippers meeting on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
11 PRIZES
Prizes will be given to the top three places.
12 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
13 LODGING
Please contact the regatta chairman with housing requests as soon as possible as we have limited availability to house guests
