7/1/2020 UPDATE
E Scow Sailors,
What an unprecedented and unexpected start to the sailing season. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these challenging times.
Unfortunately, the 2020 E Scow Blue Chip regatta is cancelled. With so many qualifying events being cancelled, along with the risk of COVID-19, it does not make sense to have an E Blue Chip this year.
But we do have some exciting news to share.
Since shortly after the 2019 E Blue Chip, we have been meeting regularly to discuss ways to enhance the regatta. What better way to do that than to collect feedback from YOU, the sailors themselves--sailors who have participated in the event dozens of times--sailors who, just last year, sailed it for the first time. Based on the feedback, we are excited to announce a few changes we think you are going to love:
**More racing and stay on the water: 7 races scheduled, starting time around 11:00 am, conditions permitting. 3 races Friday, 3 Saturday, 1 Sunday. No lunch break, big breakfast served at the PYC instead. Races are back to back to back with a short on the water break between.
**Defer invite: If your first qualification is at the September Nationals, due to the close timing with the Blue Chip, we will allow you to defer your invite by one year.
**More communications: We will communicate more throughout the season about the Mystery Guest and who has qualified, as they qualify.
**No bar walk.
