Young Harry Melges IV sailed a perfect Blue Chip Regatta
Mystery Guest is 2013 America's Cup winner Jimmy Spithill ( Sailing Resume)
Six races completed for the 2014 Blue Chip regatta and young Harry Melges IV, at age 13, had a perfect score of 6 points.
This is almost unheard of at a Blue Chip regatta and although I don't have official race results from the past - I am pretty sure Bill Allen and Harry Melges III are the only two people who might possibly have won 5-6 races in the 49 year history of the Blue Chip.
We saw something special by a special young skipper. Watching Sean's aerial videos below will give you a glimpse of what we'll be seeing in the future with Harry IV driving both up and down wind at top speed.
By the way - it was epic Blue Chip racing with winds in the 20's - and the usual gusty shifty difficult to handle puffs. Some of our most experienced and talented skippers bit the dust (isn't that right Tom Burton).
